How do I play?
Each board hides one treasure in every row, every column and every coloured patch, and no two treasures touch, even diagonally. Tap a cell once to mark it with an X (no treasure here) and tap twice to dig. Correct digs automatically cross out the cells that can no longer hold a treasure. The first time you start, a short How to Play walks you through it.
What happens if I dig in the wrong place?
A wrong dig breaks one of your three shields. X marks never cost anything. Lose all three shields and you can retry the same board with fresh shields, or set out on a brand-new board for that mission. Each board also comes with three hints and one reveal.
Is there always a solution?
Yes. Every board is checked when it's generated to have exactly one solution, so you never have to guess – there's always a reason a cell must or can't hold a treasure.
Is there a way to play without shields?
Yes – switch Mode to Zen in Settings. Zen has no lives and doesn't check digs as you go; the board is checked once it's full. The Daily Treasure always uses three shields so every player's result is comparable.
How is my progress saved?
Progress, stars, streaks, your museum and settings are saved automatically on your device. They don't sync between devices, and deleting the app deletes them.
Can I turn off sound or haptics?
Yes, both have switches in Settings. Sounds also follow your device's silent switch and volume, and mix politely with music you're playing.
What data does Emoji Hunt collect?
None. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no third-party code, and it never connects to the internet. See the privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Open Settings and tap Reset All Progress, or simply delete the app. Everything Emoji Hunt stores lives on your device, so either way it's gone.
How much does it cost?
Emoji Hunt is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 18 or later.
